Felix Weill, a native of Baton Rouge, has practiced law continuously in Louisiana’s capital city for 46 years. In recent years, he has concentrated his practice in the areas of estate planning, business law, and non-profit organizations. He has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court since 1978 and all Louisiana courts since his admission to the bar in 1972.
Felix was educated in the Baton Rouge public schools and graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1965. He was inducted into the Baton Rouge High School Hall of Fame in 2017.
In 1969, he graduated from Louisiana State University, ranked first in the College of Business Administration. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve through his participation in the Reserve Officer Training Corp. A highlight of his college experience was being invited by the President of the United States to attend the Presidential Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C.
Felix is a 1972 honor graduate of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU. During law school, he served as Senior Associate Editor of the Louisiana Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He has served on the Alumni Board of Trustees of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
In addition to a his legal practice, Felix has given his time, leadership, and support to many civic organizations, including the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge (President); LSU Foundation (Board); Cadets of the Ole War Skule (President); Up Alliance (formerly the Greater Baton Rouge Literacy Coalition – Board); Swine Palace Theater at LSU (Board); and Louisiana Military Hall of Fame and Museum (Board).
Felix is a lifelong member of Congregation B’nai Israel of Baton Rouge, having served in many capacities, including President of the Congregation and Chair of its Foundation. He is also a Past President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Baton Rouge.
Felix has been married to Lynn Schmulen Weill for 49 years. They have two sons, David and Bradley, and two grandchildren, Amelia and Cora.
