
Blake R. David is founding partner of the Lafayette firm of Broussard & David, L.L.C., where he is a practicing trial lawyer representing individuals and their families in injury and death cases. He received a BA degree from LSU and his JD from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Mr. David is an “AV” rated attorney by Martindale-Hubble (highest rating possible). Blake is board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Civil Trial Advocacy.
Blake has been named to Top 1% of lawyers nationwide by National Association of Distinguished Counsel. He has also been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as a Top 100 Trial Lawyers (2012-2017), an exclusive designation for trial lawyers who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership. Blake has been recognized by Louisiana Super Lawyers (2012-17) in the field of personal injury law. He has also been recognized by the Million Dollar Advocates and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums, and three separate times has achieved Top 100 jury verdicts in the country (Verdict Search).
Blake is on the Executive Committee for the Louisiana Association for Justice; is a past president of the Lafayette Bar Association and serves on the Lafayette Bar Foundation Board; past president of the Federal Bar Association’s Lafayette Chapter; past president of the American Inn of Court of Acadiana.
Blake served on the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) Board of Governors (2014-2017). He has been a presenter for many CLEs, including the LSBA Admiralty Symposium from 2009-2017. He was the recipient of the LSBA Outstanding Young Lawyer Award in 2009.
In his community, Blake is past chair of the Lafayette Downtown Development Authority. He serves on the IberiaBank Advisory Board, founding board member of the ABC Art Fund (executive committee), Miles Perret Cancer Services Board, Community Foundation of Acadiana, Opus Christi Magnum fundraisers for Catholic Charities of Acadiana, Foundation Board member and Eucharistic Minister for Our Lady of Fatima Church, the Acadiana Tigers board, and a founding board member of “the705”, a young professionals organization focused on leadership and service in the community. Lafayette Daily Advertiser named him to the “20 Under 40” list of successful young business persons in 2006.
Prior to litigating, Blake worked as a registered lobbyist with Haynie & Associates in Baton Rouge. He and his wife, Amber, have been married for 13 years and are the parents of three children.
Mr. David serves as a representative of the 3rd Congressional District, and his term of service expires on December 31, 2022.
